Julie Dowling‘s work features in the exhibition Ngarn Wa’ngal: Art of the gum tree at The Potter Museum of Art at Melbourne University. Translating as ‘breathing for us’ in Woi Wurrung, Ngarn Wa’ngal celebrates the deep cultural and ecological significance of the eucalypt.

ECU Gallery’s exhibition Grit is drawn from works in the Edith Cowan University Art Collection and includes paintings by Julie Dowling. The exhibition spans a wide range of material approaches, including painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, wood carving, video, ochre, drawing, printmaking, collage, glass, textiles, and found materials.

In addition, Julie Dowling & Fiona Foley‘s work feature in the current exhibition I AM: Aboriginal art from the State Art Collection at Art Gallery of WA. Curator of Indigenous Art Carly Lane notes that “I AM is an exhibition about identity and personhood.
