Congratulations Rubaba Haider. Her painting What you seek, is seeking you (Rumi) II has recently been acquired by Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA). The fine, interconnected threads, depicted in various states of unravelling in Rubaba Haider’s intricately rendered gouache paintings represent both bodily and social wounds and tears. Despite the vulnerability present in her work, there is a certain resilience expressed, a strength found through repair and connection.

In addition, Rubaba Haider’s work features in the exhibition And Still I Rise at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The exhibition’s titles is taken from Maya Angelou’s famous book of poems and this exhibition focuses on a culturally diverse group of women artists living in Australia.
