Euan Macleod‘s work features in Low Tides, the current exhibition at RACV’s Melbourne City Gallery Lounge. The exhibition explores the contemplative nature of water and includes new work by RACV Collection artists.

Euan Macleod: Flux, an Orange Regional Gallery and ANU Drill Hall Gallery partnership exhibition will opn at the Drill Hall Gallery in September. The exhibition features a series of en plein air paintings Euan Macleod made on Haupapa Tasman Glacier in New Zealand’s South Island, alongside large scale paintings completed upon his return to his studio. Brenda L. Croft‘s exhibition Naabami (thou shall / will see): Barangaroo (army of me) is now open to the public in the Quentin Bryce Gallery, Embassy of Australia in Washington, DC, USA. Naabami (thou will/shall see): Barangaroo (army of me) features large-scale photomedia portraits of contemporary First Nations women and girls and honours Barangaroo, the Cammeraygal Warrior woman who acts as a constant ancestral guide for the women and girls represented in this major installation.

Brenda L. Croft is also a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize. Entering its 17th year, the National Photographic Portrait Prize is one of the Gallery’s most popular annual events. The prize provides a powerful visual record of the year that was – a celebration of identity, both collective and individual.

In addition, Brenda L. Croft features in the latest Portrait magazine in a recent edition of Art Guide. Her work is also showing in the exhibition Reflecting Lenses: Twenty Years of Photography at the Gorman Museum in California, USA. The exhibition presents highlights from the Gorman Museum of Native American Art collection by more than two dozen Indigenous artists from North America, Aotearoa, and Australia. Gunter Christmann‘s paitning Heavy Jelly from 1969 features in the current exhibition SNO 176 at Artbank Window at Artbank Sydney. The exhibition brings together work from artists associated with SNO (Sydney Non Objective), the supportive and community-based project that Artbank has proudly supported over the years.

Gunter Christmann’s painting appears alongside works by Belle Blau, Lottie Consalvo, Leslie Dumbrell, Richard Dun, Lynne Eastaway, Nathan Gray, Helga Groves, Matt Hinkley, Andrew Leslie, Ruark Lewis and Kerrie Poliness.

The Adelaide Perry Prize is an annual acquisitive award hosted by PLC, Sydney and was judged by Sasha Grishin this year.

The Darling Portrait Prize is a biennial national prize for Australian portrait painting honouring the legacy of Mr L Gordon Darling AC CMG (1921-2015). This year the prize will be judged by Bree Pickering, Director, National Portrait Gallery; Erin Vink, Curator First Nations Art (local and global), Art Gallery of New South Wales and Tara Heffernan, Art Historian and Critic. An exhibition of the finalists’ work will be held at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra from 22 June to 22 September 2024.
