Martin Parr‘s first solo exhibition at Clementine de la Feronniere has opened in Paris. Photographs from the 1970s to present day feature in his latest exhibition, with subjects ranging from tourism, small shops, horse races, sporting spectators and village fairs.

Works by Steven Rendall are currently being shown in two artist run exhibitions in Melbourne. The Bureau for the Organisation of Origins (BOO!) in Fitzroy Gardens is open Tuesday to Saturdays 11am until 5pm and is currently exhibiting works by Steven Rendall, along with Parminder Kaur, Tobias Titz with Alum Cheedy and Bobby Bunungurr, Patrick Pound, Saffron Newey, Scotty So, Hootan Heydari, Katyan Javan, Edie Duffy, Julie Vinci and more.
Steven Rendall’s work is also showing at Brunswick Temporary. Bringing together work by six artists who explore the interplay of our digital/physical existence in contemporary life, A sky the colour of a dead channel continues until 25 February.

Curated by Melissa Keys, the exhibition explores a range of works that display an interest in the phenomena of openings and absences and an underlying desire for completeness.

Rubaba Haider is exhibiting at Niagara Galleries in March 2023
Stephen Benwell‘s work features in two current exhibitions in New South Wales, as well as an upcoming exhibition at Bundanon Art Museum. Thinking Through Pink at Wollongong Art Gallery is curated by Dr Sally Gray and includes works from the Wollongong Art Gallery collection; decorative arts from the Powerhouse collection, Sydney; posters from the archives of second-wave feminist artists Jan Fieldsend and Marie McMahon and works by invited contemporary artists.
Clay Dynasty at Powerhouse Museum celebrates studio ceramics in Australia and features works from the 1960s through to the present day. The exhibition features more than 400 objects from the Powerhouse’s significant ceramics collection, including works by Stephen Benwell and Angela Brennan.
The upcoming exhibition Fantastic Forms celebrates Bundanon’s 30th Anniversary. Curated by Boe-Lin Bastian and Sophie O’Brien, Fantastic forms features ceramics, sculpture and animation, and brings together new commissions by three contemporary Australian artists, Nabilah Nordin, Stephen Benwell and Rubyrose Bancroft, with Bundanon’s expansive collection of drawings by artist William Merric Boyd (1888 –1959), Arthur Boyd’s father.

Brenda L. Croft has received attention from a number of journalists and publications for her exhibition and projections Naabami (thou shall/will see): Barangaroo (army of me) and Dyin Nura (Women’s Place), which featured in Sydney Festival last month. Croft featured in several articles in The Sydney Morning Herald, as well as on SBS World News, NITV, in The Age, Koori Mail, Indesign Live, Habitus Living, The Art Guide, Art Almanac and National Indigenous Times. In addition, a ten minute interview with Croft aired on 2ser, and Art Collector published an extensive article in their latest issue, which includes an interview with Croft, about her career and her Sydney Festival projects. Following this, Sydney’s largest biennial survey of contemporary Australian Art, The National 4 will feature work by Brenda L. Croft. The biennial will be held across four sites: Art Gallery of NSW, Carriageworks, MCA Australia and Campbelltown Art Centre and will include 53 artists and collectives
In addition, Brenda L. Croft’s work is now showing in the 20th-Century galleries Rehang exhibition at Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Later this year Brenda L. Croft commences her tenure as the 2023 – 2024 Gough Whitlam and Malcolm Fraser Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard University, USA. Professor Croft will be the first First Nations woman academic to take up the prestigious position at Harvard. Read more here.

Kevin Lincoln: Evoking Gippsland closes at Gippsland Art Gallery this week. This must-see exhibition features paintings and drawings by Kevin Lincoln, including some bound in the artist’s travel books, spanning a period of forty years. Subjects range from Wilsons Promontory, Tenby Point, Wattle Point, Lindenow, Kilcunda, and Grantville, Mitchell River, Powlett River, and the rolling hills of South Gippsland.
