Richard Larter's work is currently on display at the NGV. The work is part f the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Victoria which consists of approximately 75,000 works of art, including many works by Niagara artists. Due to the size of the collection, only a portion is on display at any one time.

Gunter Christmann in The Field Revisited

Gunter Christmann's work is included in The Field Revisited, the restaging of the landmark 1968 exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria. 

"The Field opened to much controversy and helped launch the careers of a generation of Australian artists, including Sydney Ball, Peter Booth, Janet Dawson and Robert Jack" NGV

 

Pictured above is Rubezahl, 1967 which exists on the reverse of Canberra, 1975. Gunter Christmann commonly reused his canvases, as he has here.

Noel McKenna - Lismore Regional Gallery

Noel McKenna's work is included in From Here to There: Australian art and walking, an exhibition at Lismore Regional Gallery which explores the everyday act of walking.
 

Noel McKenna works in a variety of media, including oil, enamel and watercolour, lithography and etching, ceramic and metal. He produces offbeat depictions of everyday scenes, often including displaced objects, people and animals. His spare canvases hint at narratives beyond the picture plane, often movingly depicting the relationship between humans and animals.

Brenda L Croft Heart-in-hand Canberra Contemporary Art Space

Heart-in-hand, an exhibition of recent work by Brenda L Croft will open soon at Canberra Contemporary Art Space at the Gorman Arts Centre, Canberra. The artist has stated that the exhibition is "In tribute to my mother, Dorothy Jean Croft (1938 - 2010), on the 80th anniversary of her birth. A passionate archivist, Dorothy was a talented craft-maker, amateur photographer & dedicated writer. Witty & whip-smart, she was also mercurial & had been since childhood. She was a complex person who taught me many important things: honesty, integrity & social justice. I miss her every day."

Exhibition runs from 13 July until 8 September 2018

Helen Wright - Paul Guest Prize 2018

Congratulations to Helen Wright, who is a finalist in this year's Paul Guest Prize. The non-acquisitive contemporary drawing prize is held biennially and was initiated by former Family Court Judge and Olympic rower, the Honourable Paul Guest QC. 

An exhibition of all finalists' work will be held at Bendigo Art Gallery from the 30 June until Sunday, 9 September 2018.

David Keeling - Hadley Art Prize 2018

Niagara Galleries is pleased to announce that David Keeling is a finalist in this year's Hadley's Art Prize. The acquisitive art prize aims to promote the work of contemporary Australian landscape painting and is held in Hobart annually. 

An exhibition of finalists' work will be held at Galleries at Hadley's Orient Hotel in Hobart from Saturday, 21 July until Saturday, 25 August 2018.
